Steffen “uldahl” Nielsen at Final table in EMOP

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Our very own Pro-Team player Steffen Uldahl Nielsen made it to the final table in the European Masters of poker event 1 season 2.
There was 253 players entering the event, and Uldahl finished strong with a 5th place, taking home over €11.000.

At one point he had almost 1 million in chips when he was 3 outed in a big pot against Jeremias Fjellgren. Although we also remember that he had recently doubled his stack when his K 9 won a big pot against K J held by the eventual winner Vladimir Mefodichev from Russia. So all in all it was a fair result.
The final table was surounded by the rest of team Potraiser, and a few Potraiser qualifyers, and there was no doubt who was the most cheered player at the final table with all the “SÅJA” being yelled after each pot taken down by Steffen.

Final results of EMOP Ljubljana:
1.Vladimir Mefodichev (Russia)
2.Mihai Nedelcu (Romania)
3.Jeremias Fjellgren (Sweden)
4.Anders Kjaerulf (Denmark)
5.Steffen Uldahl (Denmark)
6.Andreas Chalkiadikis (Greece)
7.Sylvain Lanternier (France)
8.Christoffer Brammer (UK)
9.Avi Cohen (Israel)

Potraiser congratulates Vladimir Mefodichev to his victory and the €58.190 in first prize.
Team Potraiser has now left Slovenia with some really good results, and watch out for us in the next EMOP, where we hope to come back even stronger.

EMOP Ljubljana day 2

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

The day started out really good, with JustFold taking down a nice pot to advance to 91K, and donkykIonk doubled up on one of the first hands.
Unfortunately donkykIonk was eliminated a few hands later when he pushed his 77 in to a guy holding KK behind him and was knocked out.

Simba84 made a bold move against a guy when he threebet a early raiser holding A9, unfortunately timing was not on his side today as a guy behind him had picked up QQ and went all-in. The first raiser also called with his KK. No help by the board and Simba84 was knocked out.

When we were in the money there was 3 players representing Potraiser still in. Those 3 were uldahl, JustFold and Thomas Andersson.
JustFold was on a short stack and took his chance before his BB with 87 suited but was called in 2 places and knocked out.
Shortly after Thomas Andersson was also eliminated.

Our last horse in this race is uldahl, who is still in when play ended for the day with 18 players left.
Uldahl has 287K, wich is exactly the average and an 8th place right now, and he is in good shape to make a serious run in this tourney tomorrow.

Play starts at 15.00 CET tomorrow, and you can follow the livereporting here

EMOP Ljubljana day1B

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Team Potraiser is doing great in day 1B.
Simba84 (Gusten Sjöberg) and donkykIonk (Jens Lindbladh) representing the proteam also made it through to day2 in the tournament, so now 4 out of 6 from the proteam are still in.

simba84-in-emop-slovenia.JPG
Simba84 had a day he described as a frustrating one, where he just could´nt get the right momentum going, but excperienced as he is he keept his cool and fought with all weapons avvailiable and was still in contention when the right opportunity presented itself late in the last level when he got all his chips in with KK against a guy trying to pull of a big squeezeplay with KQ for a nice double up.
Gusten is starting day 2 with a stack of 47K, and is definetly in contention for a deep run in this tournament.
For donkykIonk the day was a struggle, he was up to about 24K at one time but had to make a big laydown with QQ that left him with a short stack for the last 3 hours of play yesterday. He tried as best he could to get his money in good for a double up but did´nt get any callers the times he was all-in, resulting in him moving on to day2 with a stack of 15K.
But give Jens a early double up and we will ha another guy who will put up a great threat today.

As a sidenote the Potraiserplayer St@ke_me (Lars-Johan Persson), who is travelling with our team on this trip is also through to day2 after a good days work with a few threebets to keep his stack in contention. Lars_Johan also displayed some nice klonking skills as he got it all in with KK against AA at one time and hitting a king. He had 38K at best and was down to 13K at one point but managed to get 25K with him to day 2.
Potraiser qualifyers Emil Henriksson is also infor day2 with a good stack of 55K, as is Thomas Andersson with a stack of 42K.

Today play will start at 15.00 with the following players representing Potraiser.
Steffen Uldahl Nielssen 90K (Read an article in danish about Steffen here)
Christer Lagerstöm 66K
Gusten Sjöberg 47K
Jens Lindbladh 15K
Lars-Johan Persson 25K
Emil Henriksson 55K
Thomas Andersson 42K

EMOP Ljubljana day1A

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

The Potraiser Proteam is in Slovenia for the first event of season 2 of European Masters of Poker.

On Day 1A the following players started this tournament that have a good structure with 20K starting stacks:
Ivar44 (Mattias Bengtsson)
Ekolod1 (Albert Rolander)
uldahl (Steffen Uldahl Nielsen)
JustFold (Christer Lagerström)

As play started Ivar was of to a flying start almost doubling up to 38K with aggressive play, and hitting quad kings in a hand and getting payed handsomely.
JustFold also started pretty good and was up to 30K quite early.
Ekolod1 and uldahl had a tougher start, but uldahl made a nice comeback after hitting his 2-outer on the river to double up.
Just after the dinner break JustFold won a big pot when he hit a set of sixes on a 632 flop and getting everything from the guy with AA.
Uldhal kept building his stack with some agressive play and some good “klonking skills”.
For Ivar44 and Ekolod1 it was not a good day, Ivar went out after facing an Italian gentelman who obviously thinks A 10 is the nuts preflop, when Mattias had pushed all in with QQ.
Ekolod1 had worked his way up to 27K when his misery began. In 6 consecutive pots his raises was reraised so he had to fold, and the stack was down under 10K. Then after a few uncontested all-ins a Slovenian guy in the BB finally called the 7,5K all- in from Ekolod1.
Ekolod1´s 77 of course stood no chance against his premium A 5 off, as a A hit the flop right in the door.

left in the tournament to day2 is JustFold with a stack of 66K, and with an impressive stack we have our mr uldahl with 90K wich puts him among the top 5 in chips going in to day2.

Today day1B is about to start and from Team Potraiser we have Simba84 (Gusten Sjöberg), and donkykIonk (Jens Lindbladh) to defend our colors.

Pokerfinnkampen 3

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

This last weekend Ekolod1 and Franke_HSC went to Tallin to do battle in the classic Pokerfinnkampen.

Ekolod1 playing for Sweden and Franke playing for Finland.
Not suprisingly Ekolod1 managed the stack best of these 2, as Franke was eliminated before the dinner break.
But Ekolod1 was also eliminated when play got down to 2 tables.
Potraisers hopes now stod to our CEO ekek, who was still in and managed to reach the final table.

Fredrik “ekek” Rahnasto

On the final table ekek was eliminated in 7th place, after beeing shortstacked for some time and then finding AK.
Unfortunately for Fredrik the Finnish Chipleader had found AA in the BB, and sent Fredrik to the rail.

As always team Potraiser dominated in the bar, and had a really good time at the cashtables.

A weekend in Stockholm

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Hi boys.

Here I am with my first blog. I´m in the flight on my way back home to Denmark after a
poker-weekend in Stockholm with the Potraiser guys. As always it has been a really nice trip.

I arrived on friday and Albert “Ekolod1″ picked me up at the airport. This weekend he and his
girlfriend invited me to stay at their place so we went there playing a bit online Plo and
had some drinks.

After a little while we agreed to visit the casino. We quickly got a seat at the sofest table
I played in a long time. It was really nice being back in valuetown - the games was just as soft
as I remember them. A girl sitting to my right flat called any preflop bets for like 2 hours
untill she donated the last of her chips to me :) LOVED her!

On day two we was going to play the Potraiser Live tour, but first we went to see the Swedish
cup final between AIK And Göteborg. We met up with Jesper “Luxxxing” and Christer “JustFold”
and some of their friends. AIK won the double. They probably need a good transfer window or two
before they will be winning champions league but to be honest it wasn´t as bad as I thought
it would be.

The tournament started and I doubled up in one of the first hands with 54 suited of diamonds.
Lovely hand wich you always should play for your entire stack in level one in a tournament :)
5 hands later I managed to loose my winnings and a little more on a bad play with JJ.
I managed to double and cruised my way to the final table. This time I finished 4th. I busted when
I pushed my 8-10 BB stack with KQ suited from the button. The guy in the SB called with 88 and I did´nt
hit anything, although I picked up a flushdraw on the turn. I had two last longer bets with Fredrik
“ekek” and Jesper “Luxxxing” from the team.

Some players from the Potraiser Online team was in the tournament as well. One of the members
made a good performance and finished 3rd after getting cold cards in the endgame.

The next trip with the Potraiser team will be the 21st of november when Me and Jens “DonkykIonk”
go back to Stockholm to play the next Potraiser live tour. After that tournament we are going
to Slovenia to play the first stop of the new EMOP season. Most of the guys from the team
are going to Slovenia, so it´s gonna be an awesome trip.

C u at the tables grinders! :)

Potraiser players at final table

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Saturday the 31 st October a group of players that are members of Potraisers online team went to play the PAF poker cruise. Three of the players made it to the final table. Sander Blomberg ended up 7th, Emanuel Nyberg ended up 4th and Oscar Alvéreus ended up in 3rd place. We congratulate these players and are happy that Potraiser made a lot of noice on yet another PAF/sviten cruise.

I do feel sorry about PAF though who have to erase the Potraiser logo on our players in their pictures. I don’t know what that says about them but I think it’s hilarious. I submit a picture of Emanuel on the final table, with erased logo…erasedlogo
